Tournament Format and FAQ

The tournament is setup to be individual competition with a team spirit.  The top 4 players from each Little League or Club Team will be used to determine the top teams.

1 - Preliminary Game

A 3-6 inning game where all players will get to bat once per inning and each player will get 5 pitches/inning.  The results of the preliminary game will determine the seeding for the double elimination tournament.

2 - Double Elimination Tournament

All games during the double elimination portion will consist of 2-4 innings, except the championship game.  The championship game will consist of 4-6 innings.  Each player will get 5 pitches/inning.

How do teams/players score?

The scores will be determined based on where the batter hits the ball.  Balls that hit the top of the batting cages will receive a score of 0.  The sides of the batting cages will be divided into three sections, each will be worth 1, 2, or 3 pts.   The different sections have been engineered relative to where the ball would be hit on a real baseball field.   A hard ground ball down the middle will also receive 1 point.  Target(s) will be place at the end of the batting cages and will be worth 4 pts (Homerun), if they are hit.  In order to score points the batter must hit line drives.  The sum of the top four individual scores of each team will detemine the team's score.

How long will the tournament last?

This will depend on the number of players that register, but plan for about 2-4 hours.

Awards

The top three individuals with the highest P-Rating per division will receive a medal.  In case of a tie, the number of homeruns, triples, doubles, and/or singles will be use as tie-breakers in that order.

*Other prizes and awards will be provided.  All prizes and awards will be worth more than $500 combined!
